BIO

   Jack Philipoom started playing the guitar at the age of 14 in his hometown of Richmond, VA.  He quickly gained a passion for playing guitar and in 2013  started school at George Mason University. There he studied jazz guitar with Rick Whitehead and Shawn Purcell and classical guitar with Larry Snitzler. Jack graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. In 2020 he decided to further his education and begin studying Music Education with a focus in Early Childhood Music at Boston University. He graduated with his Master's degree in 2022.​ 

 

  Jack enjoys an eclectic range of music including indie, jazz, blues, rock, rap and everything in between. He performs throughout the DMV with several different groups and teaches guitar and early childhood music in Potomac, Maryland.  Jack believes the key to teaching effectively is breeding a passion for music in the student he is teaching. He is happy to teach students whatever style of music they enjoy and encourages his students to improvise and compose songs.
